New fish species discovered in Peru-Chile trench

Marine biologists claim to have discovered three new fish species while undertaking deep-water ocean trawls of the Peru-Chile trench off South America.

An international team, led by the University of Western Australia, made the discovery while undertaking an expedition to study mesopelagic fish (midwater fish that live at depths of over 100 metres) and how they use bioluminescence (self generated light) to survive at these depths.

Working with teams of scientists from Britain, the US, Japan, Germany and other parts of Australia, 20 trawls were undertaken at depths ranging from 100 metres to 1,700 metres.

"It is suspected that at least three new fish species may have been discovered but this awaits verification by the experts on board from the Australian and Victorian museums," Professor Shaun Collin, who led the team, said.

He added: "But how do these deep-sea fishes manage to migrate upwards nearly 1000 metres every night to feed in the nutrient rich upper water layers when there is little or no sunlight to signal night and day?

"We're interested in what the function of the pineal is in the deep sea and whether these image-forming eyes also play a role in setting their circadian (daily) rhythms."

New Genus of Dinosaur Discovered in South Korea

Koreaceratops hwaseongensis, a new species of dinosaur estimated to have lived during the late Early Cretaceous period about 103 million years ago, has been discovered in South Korea.

The specimen was discovered in 2008 and is the first ceratopsian dinosaur discovered in the Korean peninsula. Ceratopsians are dinosaurs with horns and a rostral bone, a beak-like bone in the upper jaw. A well-known ceratopsian is the Triceratops.

Scientists from the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History in the United States, and the Hokkaido University Museum in Japan analyzed the fossil and identified it was a new species. Because of its uniqueness, they also created a new genus for it.

The researchers said that the body structure of Koreaceratops, especially a fan-like tail, may facilitate swimming. Unique features of Koreaceratops include long spines on its tail vertebrae and an unusual heel bone, the researchers said in their paper.

“Fossils of dinosaurs have not typically been found in this region, whereas evidence of dinosaur eggs and footprints occur more commonly,” said Dr. Michael Ryan of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and co-author of the study.

The researchers estimate that the dinosaur was approximately 5 to 6 feet in length and weighed 60 to 100 pounds.

“It’s about the size of a Labrador dog,” Ryan said in a video discussing the discovery.

The new species was named after Korea and Hwaseong, the city where the fossil was found.

cerita 1

di saat yang bersamaan ketika para hunter mengayunkan brain max.batu batu yang ada disekitar kaki kai bergetar dan serempak terbang kedepan hunter.batu tersebut menciptakan tembok pelindung dari sasaran serangan kelompok yang tak dikenal.

sejenak terdengar bunyi dentuman yang lumayan menakutkan.
debu yang ada dijalan menghalangi pandagan kai sejenak,yang ternyata digunkan untuk para kelompok yang tidak dikenal untuk melarikan diri.

"sial.kabur lagi"kata hunter yang ada didepan.
nampak terjadi perdebatan cepat diantara mereka .
namun kai hanya mendengar kata "tugas","melapor","hades".,.
entah apa itu maksudnya.kai merasa tidak mengerti.,.

Seperti cerita yang lama.
Cerita ini dimulai ketiak bumi bkan lagi menjadi tempat yang kita diami.
Bumi menjadi tempat yang sangat tenag.bumi tak lagi di hisap isinya.
Disuatu tempat yang penuh dengan keramaian ,ada sebuah doom yang ditutup terpal.
didalamnya ada seorang remaja laki2 yang sedang berkutat dengan berbagai kabel yang saling terhubung satu sama lain.
"yap,pasangkan ini ke port 23 dan sambungkan ke distrik 5 and clearo"remaja itu berguman sendiri.

sebuah teriakan terdengar dari luar doom,"hei kai sudah selasai di bagian sana?"
"ya,baru selesai"sahut kai.
remaja yang bernama kai bangkit dari tempat kerjanya dan mulai bersiap untuk pulang,
sebuah tarikan panjang nafas.dan dia mulai keluar dari doom.menghampiri sesosok manusia yang tadi memanggilnya.
pertama yang keluar dari doom adalah kepalanya,kemudian kakinya,disusul badannya.
tampaklah kai.
remaja biasa dari kaum manusia.dengan tinggi 179,dia terlihat biasa.
rambutnya yang berwarna hitam dan potongan pendek jabrik.
dia adalah kai.

tampak diluar doom ada sesosok separuh baya yang menunggunya.
"bagaimana kerja mu kai?"tanya orang itu langsung.
"lancar ayah"jawabnya"tak ada kerusakan yang berarti namun aku masih bingung kenapa di tempat ini sering sekali terjadi kerusakan?"tanyanya sambil memandang sekeliling.
"ayah tidak tahu,namun jangan dipikirkan,tugas kita hanya lah memperbaiki apa yang rusak,hahahhaahha"jawab ayahnya.

tiba-tiba datang 3 bayang yng dengan cepat melewati mereka.disusul dengan sekelompok para hunter -yang gampang ditebak,karna seragamnya-.para hunter itu mengejar kelompok yang pertama.
kelompok pertama berlari menyelinap diantara jejeran bangunan yang ada di seberang doom.
para hunter yang tadi mengjar kemudain datang,berdiri diantara kai dan kelompok pertama.
namun ternyata mereka sudah tidak berada di antara gedung tersebut,melainkan berada di atas gedung tersebut.
selama beberapa detik.kedua kelompok ini saling bertatapan.
"kalian yang ada di atas san-"hunter mulai berbicara.namun sebelum para hunter menyelesaikan bicaranya.
salah seorang dari kelompok pertama mengangkat tangannya dan menganyunkannya ke bewah,dengan kekuatannya dia menghancurkan setengah dari atap gedung tersebut dan melemparkan puing puing kepada para hunter.
melihat hal tersebut .para hunter dengan cepat menarik brain max dari balik bajunya dan dengan cepat menganyun kan ke depan.

entah knapa saya hari ini jadi gak semangat.,.
